Most "sales coaching" software works after the call. It records, scores and tells the manager what went wrong, often days later. Real-time coaching is different: it helps the rep while the buyer is still talking. When the buyer says "it's too expensive", the rep sees the right answer now, not in Friday's one-on-one.
We build TalkPilot, so read this as a vendor page. Every claim about another product comes from that company's own site, linked at the bottom. Where another tool is the better pick, we say so.
How to choose
Ask two questions:
1. Where do your calls happen? A contact center on a dialer needs a tool built for dialers. A B2B team on Zoom, phones and in-person meetings needs something that runs on laptops and phones.
2. Do you need live help, or analytics? Analytics tools tell managers what happened. Live tools change what the rep says.
The options
TalkPilot Teams
TalkPilot listens on the rep's own device and gives private suggestions during the call: what to say, what to ask, and the company's approved answer to an objection. Managers set up playbooks and company knowledge in the Command Center, and every rep gets them live. After the call, TalkPilot writes structured notes and a recap, and can log the call to HubSpot. It runs on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, and the app works in English and Spanish. No bot joins the meeting. See TalkPilot for sales teams.
- Best for: small and mid-size B2B sales teams who sell on video calls, by phone and in person.
- Not for: contact centers on desk phones, or teams that need forecasting and pipeline analytics.
Balto
Balto is built for contact centers. Agents get on-screen prompts, suggested scripts, objection rebuttals and checklists during the call. Supervisors can listen in live and message agents. Balto also scores 100% of calls for QA. It connects with more than 50 contact center platforms and dialers, and its live guidance works in Spanish and other languages.
- Pick Balto if you run a phone contact center with a softphone and you need QA and compliance at scale.
Verint (Cogito)
Cogito is now part of Verint. Its coaching bot gives agents next-best-action tips, objection prompts and compliance reminders in a side bar inside their existing agent desktop.
- Pick Verint if you are a large enterprise contact center, maybe already on Verint.
Hyperbound
Hyperbound started as AI sales roleplay: reps practice with voice AI buyers. It also scores real calls and now sells live call coaching as an add-on. It supports 25+ languages, including Spanish.
- Pick Hyperbound if practice is your main need and you want live coaching from the same vendor.
Trellus
Trellus is a parallel dialer that runs inside sales tools like HubSpot, Salesforce and Outreach. It gives live tips during calls and offers AI practice calls. Live coaching is only listed on its custom Business plan.
- Pick Trellus if your team makes many outbound calls from a dialer.
Gong
Gong is the best known revenue AI platform. It is very strong after the call: transcripts, deal insights, forecasting and coaching. During the call, it offers only a few live features inside its Zoom app. Read our Gong alternatives for small teams.
- Pick Gong if you have a large sales org, a clean CRM, and you need analytics more than live help.
Pricing
- TalkPilot Teams: $32 per user per month billed yearly, or $40 per user per month billed monthly, with at least 2 users. Enterprise is custom.
- Balto, Verint, Gong: prices are not published. Gong charges per user plus a platform fee.
- Hyperbound: free plan with prebuilt roleplays, paid plans by quote.
- Trellus: Power is $99.99/month and Power + Parallel is $149.99/month. Live coaching is on the custom Business plan.
FAQ
What is real-time sales coaching?
It is software that listens to a live sales call and gives the rep tips while the call is still going, like what to ask next or how to answer an objection.
Does Gong offer real-time coaching?
Only a little. Gong's Zoom app shows some live insights on recorded Zoom calls. Most of Gong's coaching happens after the call.
What is a good Balto alternative for a B2B sales team?
Balto is built for contact centers on dialers. For a B2B team that sells on Zoom, by phone and in person, TalkPilot Teams is a closer fit.
