The verdict
Pick Read AI if you want a record and metrics for every meeting; pick TalkPilot if you want extra thinking power while the conversation is still happening, built on your own context, with a recap after.
Choose TalkPilot if
- You want help during the call: your next line or question shows up when the other person finishes talking.
- You want help that knows you and your goal, not generic tips: your brief for the call, your calendar, Memory from past calls, your notes and, with Pro, your own documents.
- Your team has a playbook: reps see the current stage, what is still left to cover and your approved answer to an objection first, and managers see each call scored against it.
- You don't want a bot in the meeting: TalkPilot listens from your own computer or phone.
- You want to practice first: an AI plays the other person by voice and scores you, or you can rehearse tomorrow's meeting from your calendar.
- Your calls are in Spanish, or switch between English and Spanish: coaching follows the language of the call.
Choose Read AI if
- You mainly want a record of every meeting: summary, transcript, action items, and search across meetings, email and chat.
- You want an assistant that joins the meetings on your calendar automatically, with video you can replay on its Enterprise plans.
- You want numbers about the room: live sentiment, engagement and talk time for everyone in the meeting.
- Your meetings happen in languages other than English and Spanish: Read AI writes reports in more than 30.

Read AI is a meeting assistant. It joins your Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet calls, or records from its desktop and phone apps, then sends a report: summary, action items, transcript, and private coaching on how you spoke. During the meeting it can show live notes and numbers like talk speed, filler words and engagement. TalkPilot is built for a different moment: the second the other person stops talking and you need to know what to say next. It is a conversation enhancer, built on proven conversation methods to make you the best communicator you can be: extra thinking power for your conversations, live.
We build TalkPilot, so read this as a vendor page. Everything we say about Read AI comes from Read AI's own site and help center, checked on October 11, 2026, and the links are at the bottom of this page.
Numbers about the meeting, or help with your next line
Read AI's live dashboard shows a running transcript, a short summary that updates about once a minute, and numbers: talk speed, filler words, talk time per person, and sentiment and engagement scores that Read AI builds from people's words and, outside the EU and UK, their faces. After the meeting, its coaching report shows where you talked too fast, used filler words or interrupted someone. It is a good mirror, but it does not tell you what to say.
TalkPilot does. When the other person finishes talking, it shows your next line, a question to ask, or where to take the conversation, based on what you told it about the call. Tap Assist when you are stuck. Short cues like "Slow down" or "Their turn to speak" show up while you talk. After the call you get a one-line takeaway, action items, follow-up drafts and, if you want it, a Deep Dive on what went well and one move for next time.
Help that knows you and your goal
Generic advice does not help much in a real conversation, so TalkPilot works from the context you give it. Before the call, write a short brief, like 'Asking my manager for a raise, I want a date for the review.' TalkPilot also reads the meeting details from your calendar, and Memory keeps lessons from your past calls plus notes you write. With Pro, add your own documents (PDF, TXT or MD), which the coach reads before and during the call. If you sell, it can bring in your HubSpot or Salesforce contact before the call. You can even paste what ChatGPT or Claude already knows about you into your profile.
With TalkPilot Teams, your company adds its own knowledge (PDF, DOCX, PPTX slides, TXT, CSV and more), playbooks, approved answers and Team DNA, so every rep works from the same facts. With Pro or Teams, you can also use TalkPilot inside Claude or ChatGPT, for example to search your past calls or prepare for the next one.
Before a conversation that matters, you can practice it: an AI plays the other person by voice, and you get a score with what worked and what to work on. You can also rehearse a meeting from your calendar or redo a past conversation.
Your playbook during the call, not only in the report
Read AI has report templates for sales methods like BANT, SPICED and MEDDPICC. They organize the report after the meeting and can send it to your CRM. That helps your notes, but the rep is on their own while the call is happening.
With TalkPilot Teams, the playbook works during the call. The rep sees the current stage and what is still left to cover. When the buyer raises a known objection, your approved answer shows before any other suggestion, and if a rep starts to say something your rules forbid, TalkPilot warns them. Starter playbooks include BANT, SPICED, MEDDIC essentials and Sandler, in English and Spanish.
For managers, the Command Center scores each call against your playbook: what was covered, how objections were handled, and any rule that was broken. A review queue shows the calls that need a look, and you can leave coaching comments and assign practice. Team DNA reads transcripts of your best people and shows how they run a call and answer objections, so you can add what works to the playbook.
No bot in the meeting, in English or Spanish
By default, Read AI joins Zoom, Teams and Meet calls as a participant, and it may post a message in the chat to say it is there. Its desktop and phone apps can record without a bot, but Read AI's help center says those reports skip speaker coaching and the transcript has no speaker names.
TalkPilot never sends a bot. It listens from your own computer or phone, and we don't record or store audio; only the transcript is saved, in your account. Coaching works in English and Spanish and follows the language of the call, even if it switches. Read AI writes reports in more than 30 languages, but its help center says meetings that mix languages are not fully supported.
Where TalkPilot is not the right fit
Good to know before you choose.
- TalkPilot only listens when you start it in a conversation you are part of. It does not go to meetings for you.
- It saves the transcript, not audio or video, so there is nothing to replay.
Frequently asked questions
Does Read AI tell you what to say during a meeting?
Read AI's live dashboard shows a transcript, short summaries and metrics like talk speed, filler words, sentiment and engagement. None of the live features in its help center suggest what to say next. TalkPilot does: when the other person stops talking, it shows your next line or a question to ask.
Does TalkPilot send a bot to my meeting?
No. TalkPilot listens from your own computer or phone, and nothing joins the meeting. We don't record or store audio; only the transcript is saved, in your account. Read AI's assistant joins Zoom, Teams and Meet calls by default; its desktop and phone apps can record without one.
How does TalkPilot know what to suggest?
From the context you give it: a short brief for the call, your calendar details, Memory from past calls, your own notes and, with Pro, your documents. On Teams it also uses your company's knowledge, playbook and approved answers. So the suggestions fit your goal and your situation, not a generic meeting.
Can TalkPilot replace Read AI?
If you used Read AI for a recap and action items after your own calls, yes: TalkPilot gives you both, plus help during the call. If your team relies on Read AI to record every meeting, replay video, or search across meetings, email and chat, that is Read AI's job, and you can use both.
Does TalkPilot work in Spanish?
Yes. The app, live coaching, recaps and action items work in English and Spanish, and coaching follows the language of the call, even if it switches. You can also pick one language in Settings. Read AI writes meeting reports in Spanish too.
How do the prices compare?
TalkPilot is free for 5 conversations a month, Pro is $20 a month, and Teams is $32 per seat a month billed annually ($40 monthly). Read AI has a free plan with 5 meetings a month, then paid plans priced per user. Check read.ai/plans-pricing for current numbers.
Can I use both?
On a computer, yes. TalkPilot does not join the meeting, so it does not get in the way of Read AI's assistant. On a phone, Read AI's help center says its app can't record while another app is using the microphone, so pick one per conversation.
