Last updated: October 2026
Poised announced on its homepage that it is shutting down on October 8, 2026. If you used it, you liked one thing above all: a quiet coach that watched your real calls and told you, privately, how you were doing. Not many tools do that. Most "meeting AI" tools only take notes after the call.
We build TalkPilot, so read this as a vendor page. Every claim about another product comes from that company's own site, and the links are at the bottom. Where another tool is the better pick, we say so.
What Poised did well
Poised gave real-time feedback during video calls, in an overlay that only you could see. It looked at filler words, pace, hedging words, interruptions and how much of the talking you did. After the call it wrote a summary with action items, and no bot joined the meeting.
So the real question is: which tool still helps you during the call?
The options
TalkPilot
TalkPilot listens to your call or conversation and gives you live coaching in the moment. The suggestions are only on your screen. It can tell you what to say next, where to steer the talk, or how you are coming across. It also shows short cues while you speak, like "Slow down" or "Their turn to speak". After the call, it writes structured notes and a recap.
- Where it wins: it works on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, so it also helps on phone calls and in-person meetings, not only video calls at a desk. It covers what to say, not only how you sound. It has a Practice mode with roleplay scenarios, so you can rehearse first.
- Where it is weaker than Poised: TalkPilot can nudge you when filler words pile up (pick the "Reduce filler words" goal), but Poised's reports went deeper on speaking stats like filler words, pace and talk time. If numbers on how you sound were your main goal, Poised was more focused on that.
Yoodli
Yoodli is a practice platform. You talk with an AI in a roleplay and get coaching on how you did. It also gives feedback on real meetings after they end: a bot joins your Zoom, Teams or Meet call and records it. One Yoodli page talks about live nudges during calls, but the help article for that desktop feature is no longer online, so we could not confirm it still exists.
- Pick Yoodli if you want lots of structured practice, and feedback after the meeting is enough for you. Its paid plans start lower than ours.
Orai
Orai is a mobile app for practicing presentations. It gives instant feedback on filler words, pace, clarity and energy while you practice. It does not join real calls.
- Pick Orai if your goal is a talk, a pitch or a toast, and you want to practice alone on your phone.
Who should pick another tool
Be honest about what you need:
- If you only want better notes after meetings, a notetaker is simpler. See our Otter alternatives page.
- If you want practice only, Yoodli or Orai cost less than TalkPilot Pro.
- If you were a Poised team customer and you need a manager dashboard for speaking skills, check Yoodli's team plans.
- TalkPilot needs the app open and mic access. It cannot help with a call it did not hear.
Pricing
- TalkPilot: Free plan with 5 conversations a month, up to 30 minutes each. Pro is $20/month. Teams is $32 per user per month billed yearly, or $40 monthly, with at least 2 users. Students get 50% off.
- Poised: Pro was $19/month, or $13/month billed yearly. It is closing.
- Yoodli: Free plan with 5 sessions. Pro is $8/month and Advanced is $20/month, both billed yearly. Team plans are by demo.
- Orai: $12/month or $49.99/year. There is a 7-day trial that needs a card.
